From a blank canvas this exclusive, award-winning Eco home was filmed for Channel 4’s ‘Build the Dream’ and presented many challenges to overcome
The first stage required a full site excavation and removal of over 3000 tons of material. Then an engineered retaining concrete wall detail was built to hold back the adjoining land and create the base to begin the foundation.
A pre-insulated timber frame construction was installed to produce excellent thermal and soundproof properties plus a welsh slate roof completed the shell of the house.
Internally under floor heating was put in throughout the ground and first floor which is digitally controlled for optimum efficiency and comfort.
The entrance to the property features an exclusive, bespoke glass staircase with embedded LED lighting designed and installed by Ensign leading off to the open plan kitchen/dining/family space, home office and integral garage . Upstairs there are 3 spacious bedrooms plus a master with luxury en-suite plus steam room and sauna
To complete the project the external space was fully landscaped to include capped retaining walls, summer house, pond and waterfall installation.
This project won the LABC 2016 North West Regional Award for Best New Build and was also a finalist in the 2016 National LABC Awards.
